Let's Play "What If?" On Immigration

Good Monday all. Yeah, I know, it’s a contradiction in terms.

Let’s pretend we’re in an alternate universe. Not radically different. Earth still looks like Earth, the planet still has humans as being at the top of the food chain, still the same political parties in the US who hold the same positions that we know today.

But here’s where we diverge from the norm. Suppose the political, social, and economic conditions between Canada and Mexico were reversed. To the north, America would be sharing a border with a destitute, predominantly white nation that loses numerous citizens every winter to the effects of the cold, drug cartels roamed freely, and the Canadian government was routinely barely hanging on. The conditions in Canada were harsh to the point that many native Canadians routinely crossed the US-Canada border hoping for a better life. Unfortunately, included in those Canadians crossing the border were unknown numbers of hardened criminals.

To the south, Mexico had social and financial prosperity. Their government was stable, society for the most part was peaceful, and Hispanic families weren’t worrying about how they were going to put food on the table for their children.

Let’s assume that the political landscape of the last six years played out in the exact same way, but flip things a little for this alternate universe. President Trump was elected in 2016, and carried out his campaign promise to close the US-Canadian border to keep out the criminals from the north. There was a huge outcry from Democrats and their allies in the media, with screams of racism (probably to account for any Native Americans or Eskimos who came south) and xenophobia. Democratic politicians proudly declare that their cities, counties and states are sanctuary areas for anyone fleeing from a Third World nation. Maybe Trump could have negotiated an arrangement with Canada like he did with Mexico, except it’d be Remain in Greenland or something. But thanks to Trump’s efforts, the Canadian crush at the border is finally slowed for the first time in years.

Then, following a highly suspect election in 2020, Sock Puppet Biden is carried into office and immediately dismantles everything Trump did, because he has no original thoughts in his head and only does what he’s told to do. In a flash, hordes of Canadians begin to pack their meager belongings and stream south, quickly overwhelming the US Border Patrol. Immigration centers quickly fill to the brim with displaced, destitute Canadians, many of whom can only speak French, have little education or practical skills, and have not had regular access to basic hygiene or medical care. All the while this is going on, Democrats continue to profess their love for the incoming Canadians, proclaiming that “diversity is our strength.”

But a problem begins to develop for these border states. See, it’s January 2021, and the average temperature at the border is hovering around 20 degrees Fahrenheit during the day, and falling into single digits at night. These loyal Democrat governors, locked into the liberal agenda, agree something must be done. These people can’t stay here and freeze and/or starve to death, but no one really wants them either because they’re icky and smell weird. So, Biden’s handlers come up with a great idea: They’ll claim they’re sending the Canadians back across the border, when in actuality they’re flying them on the taxpayers’ dime all over America, not informing the local citizenry about this, and dropping them off at already overcrowded shelters in cities all over middle America. While these flights are equal opportunity in what states they land in, “Biden’s” cronies ensure that none of these dirty Canadians will land in major cities run by Democratic mayors. All the while this goes on, proud liberals on both coasts continue to demand that more Canadians be allowed into the country, while never actually having these Canadians land in their communities. Who wouldn’t want to increase America’s diversity by adding in millions of people who just happen to share the same skin tone of those upper crust coastal elites? Diversity! Inclusivity! Equity! DIE!

Then something funny happens. Southern border states, primarily run by conservative governors, grow outraged at the dumping of uneducated, illiterate and possibly diseased Canadians in their states. They demand that “Biden” do something. VP Harris travels to Green Bay, looks north for a moment, declares she’s going to explore the root causes of immigration, and heads back to DC, never having gotten any closer to the border. Crime rates begin to increase across America as Canadian gang members get into shootouts with gangs that already existed in America. Biden continues to mumble, talking about how be faced down Corn Pop when he was a kid and how much he enjoyed it when children would rub his leg hairs in the pool, while Harris continues to insist to the willing media that the border is “secure.” Democrats point at these hapless Canadians, claiming that they really want them to live amongst them, but it’s not up to them where they land. But if they do land in their community, they’ll gladly take them in and provide them with permanent residence.

Then, the unthinkable happens. One weekend in September, a chartered plane arrives in Martha’s Vineyard, having flown directly there from Florida. Tucked inside are around 50 dirty, uneducated Canadians. And in the blink of an eye, Martha’s Vineyard has to walk the walk.

They proceed to organize a “parade” for the arriving Canadians, ensuring that professional photographers are on scene to capture their virtue. They toss them bags of cold cereal and maple syrup, since they assume Canadians like such things. The high school students enrolled in AP French are let out of class early in order to translate for those who need help. How fortunate for these displaced Canadians that there’s plenty of room for them on the island, since the traditional holiday season is over. Martha’s Vineyard is hailed as a DIE model for the nation. Huzzah!

But that didn’t happen with these Venezuelans, did it? Those virtue-signaling coastal elites couldn’t get them out of there fast enough, could they? Could it be that the elites who live and vacation at Chateau de Snob would have been willing to accept these Venezuelans, despite their physical conditions, lack of hygiene, and absence of any real skills other than manual labor, if maybe they’d been white? I have yet to hear anyone in the liberal media slam the island snobs for casting the illegals across the bay onto the mainland. I mean, I thought these better-than-us liberals WANTED more illegals to move into the country. Or, could it be, that maybe they weren’t the correct kind of illegals they wanted? Maybe they just wanted illegals who looked just like them.

And maybe that’s what this ultimately comes down to, is plain old-fashioned bigotry. It’s easy to claim moral superiority when you aren’t actually put to the test over it. But as we’ve seen so many times over the years in America, those who choose to hold themselves up to society as being better than others because of who they are or what their worldview is, are all too often exposed as being some of the biggest hypocrites and frauds around.

Scratch a liberal, find a bigot.
